PhD in Computer Science, ex CERN fellow, Linux aficionado, and all-around computer geek. Part of the ERASMUS generation, I left my home island to study in Paris more than a quarter of a century ago and have been living abroad ever since.
I currently reside in Geneva, Switzerland.

I have a passion for photography. I also occasionally indulge in chess matches on Lichess. That's pretty much all the personal information I'm willing to put on the web at the moment.

I'm completely off the grid concerning Facebook, Twitter/X, Instagram, Pinterest, Threads, TikTok, and any other social media. (Perhaps someday I will elaborate on the reasons for this in an article.) My online presence, apart from this website, is limited to a professional LinkedIn page and an academic ResearchGate page, both of which I rarely use.
